British Jews urge London Mayor to get Hizbullah banned

Last month, British Jewish groups had accused London Mayor Sadiq Khan of not doing his job over letting pro-Palestinian protesters raising Hizbullah flags during the Al-Quds rally on June 18, 2017.

On June 22, Tory London Assembly member Andrew Boff (Jew) asked the Mayor to write to home secretary Amber Augusta Rudd (in March 2017, she pledged £13.4 million to continue government funding for security measures at Jewish schools and community centers) seeking clarification over what constitutes a banned organization after Hizbullah flags was spotted during an Al Quds Day march.

When Mayor refused to be bullied by Boff, he sarcastically accused Khan saying: You seem to be avoiding saying: Yes I’ll do that. To which Khan told the whining idiot to calm down.

On July 6, Justin Cohen reported at the Times of Israel that Sadiq Khan has now urged Amber Rudd to outlaw both political and military wings of Lebanese Islamic Resistance Hizbullah. He heaped Talmudic praise on the Mayor “becoming the most high-profile figure to do so.”

Incidentally, UK designated armed-wing of Hizbullah as terrorist organization after it defeated Jewish Army in 2006. On September 7, 2012, UK’s foreign secretary William Hague urged European Union to ban the military wing of Hizbullah. Netherlands is the only EU member to blacklist Hizbullah. Some EU countries are resisting to classify Hizbullah as a terrorist organization, most notably France which created Lebanon out of the Ottoman Syria in 1946.

Hizbullah was established by South Lebanese Shi’ite leaders to resist Israeli occupation in the late 1980s. It succeeded in liberating Southern Lebanon from Jewish army and its Christian Phalangist allies in 2000. Since then, Hizbullah has become a national hero for Lebanese Muslim, Christian and Druze communities. This fact is admitted by all Lebanese Christian presidents.

After Hizbullah fighters defeated 30,000-strong Jewish army in June 2006, Israeli leaders admitted they don’t know how to defeat Hizbullah. On January 29, 2015, American Jew journalist Tzvi Ben-Gedalyahu at Jewishpress.com posted an article, entitled, Israel Won’t Go to War against Hizbullah because It Can’t Win.

Last year, a study conducted by Tel-Hai university more than 80% of Israelis trust Hizbullah leader Nasrallah and the others trust their own leaders.

Hizbullah has now transformed from a welfare organization in the beginning to world’s most powerful armed resistance and a kingmaker at the national level. It leads country’s opposition. The current Lebanese president Gen. (ret) Michel Naim Aoun, is an ally of Hizbullah.
