Man acquitted

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday acquitted a death sentence convict, Fayyaz Ahmad, giving him the benefit of doubt. Fayyaz Ahmad was awarded capital punishment over the alleged killing of Zafar Iqbal in Vehari in 1999. The trial court had awarded Fayyaz death sentence whereas the Lahore High Court had maintained the sentence. A three-member bench headed by Justice Dost Muhammad Khan heard the case.
